The idea for Troutman Pepper’s Financial Services Industry Group – and this new blog – came when we looked around the firm and realized that we had so many areas of legal specialty in which we were serving financial services clients. But by thinking of ourselves as legal specialists in particular areas – like consumer finance, commercial lending, M&A or bank regulatory – we were missing the opportunity to provide greater value to clients by integrating our teams across those legal practice areas.

That’s why we created the Financial Services Industry Group. It’s a way for us work together to give clients a team of lawyers who can provide any kind of legal advice a client may need across its operation, delivered by lawyers who really know and understand the industry, because they regularly work for clients in the industry. And our experience doesn’t just cover the obvious areas like litigation, regulatory, commercial lending and M&A – it includes other areas like employee benefits and executive compensation, intellectual property, private equity and privacy, all provided by lawyers who work for financial institutions and understand their operations.

This blog is designed to bring our thought leadership content together, just as we have brought our lawyers together to provide value to the financial services industry. Here, you will find insights from across our Financial Services Industry Group, but the common theme is that the content will always be relevant to our financial services clients. You can take all the content in, or filter by subject matter to see what you’re most interested in. You can also subscribe to get our content delivered to you by e-mail.

We hope you enjoy the new blog, and most important, hope you take advantage of our cross-disciplinary approach to serving financial institutions.
